Arthritis Foundation
2024 Virtual JA Camp

As part of a collaborative partnership between Edgewood College and the Arthritis Foundation, I participated in a unique opportunity to design and implement virtual programming for children and adolescents attending a virtual Juvenile Arthritis Camp. Working alongside a team of five Child Life students, we developed a comprehensive activity workbook and virtual experiences that supported key therapeutic goals, including normalization, expressive play, active play, mindfulness, and the development of self-advocacy skills. All activities were thoughtfully designed with consideration for developmental appropriateness, cultural sensitivity, and accessibility to ensure an inclusive and supportive experience for all participants.

In addition to contributing to the development of each activity, I played an integral role in the overall design, formatting, and editing of the workbook and virtual materials. This included ensuring visual clarity, consistency, and accessibility across all resources. To enhance the virtual experience and provide clear guidance for campers, our team also produced instructional videos demonstrating various activities. I was actively involved in the planning, scripting, filming, and editing of these videos to ensure they were engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with the therapeutic goals of the program.
